How to Fix It

Follow these steps in order to resolve the error.

  1. Review the rejected claim and identify the specific fee code where HST was added.
  2. Consult the current WorkSafeBC Physician Fee Schedule. Only a very limited number of fee items, typically for specific reports or non-medical services, are eligible for HST.
  3. Remove the HST from the ineligible fee item. In your billing software, this is usually done by setting the HST field to zero or unchecking an 'Apply HST' box.
  4. Recalculate the claim total to ensure it is correct after removing the HST, and resubmit the claim through Teleplan.
