How to Fix It
Follow these steps in order to resolve the error.
- Review the rejected claim and identify the specific fee code where HST was added.
- Consult the current WorkSafeBC Physician Fee Schedule. Only a very limited number of fee items, typically for specific reports or non-medical services, are eligible for HST.
- Remove the HST from the ineligible fee item. In your billing software, this is usually done by setting the HST field to zero or unchecking an 'Apply HST' box.
- Recalculate the claim total to ensure it is correct after removing the HST, and resubmit the claim through Teleplan.
