How to Fix It
Follow these steps in order to resolve the error.
- Verify the original service date and the date the claim was submitted to Teleplan. This code means the submission was outside the filing deadline outlined in the physician's WorkSafeBC contract (typically 90 days).
- Review the physician's contract with WorkSafeBC to confirm their specific filing deadlines and the payment reduction policy for late submissions.
- This is a final decision from WorkSafeBC, and the payment adjustment is usually non-negotiable unless there were exceptional circumstances for the delay. MSP cannot override this.
- To appeal or discuss the adjustment, you must contact WorkSafeBC Payment Services directly at 1-888-922-3737.
- For all future WorkSafeBC claims, implement a process to ensure they are submitted well within the 90-day window to prevent this financial penalty.
