How to Fix It
Follow these steps in order to resolve the error.
- Verify the payee number submitted on the claim. Check for typos against the physician's official MSP registration documents.
- Confirm the date of service. The physician's payee number must have been active on the specific date the service was rendered. This is a common issue for physicians who have recently joined, left, or changed their practice arrangement.
- If the payee number belongs to a group or clinic, ensure the rendering physician was properly linked to that group payee number on the date of service.
- If you have verified all internal information is correct, the physician may need to check their registration status. Contact the Teleplan Service Desk at 604-683-7151 to inquire about the status of the payee number for the specific date of service.
