The payee number submitted for payment is not considered active by MSP for the date of service.

How to Fix It

Follow these steps in order to resolve the error.

  1. Verify the payee number submitted on the claim. Check for typos against the physician's official MSP registration documents.
  2. Confirm the date of service. The physician's payee number must have been active on the specific date the service was rendered. This is a common issue for physicians who have recently joined, left, or changed their practice arrangement.
  3. If the payee number belongs to a group or clinic, ensure the rendering physician was properly linked to that group payee number on the date of service.
  4. If you have verified all internal information is correct, the physician may need to check their registration status. Contact the Teleplan Service Desk at 604-683-7151 to inquire about the status of the payee number for the specific date of service.
