Error AR
High UrgencyInvalid or Missing Birthdate
The birthdate on the claim is missing, incomplete, or does not match MSP records.
Official Description: Birthdate missing or invalid.
How to Fix It
Follow these steps in order to resolve the error.
- Verify the birthdate entered in your billing software against the patient's file. Check for common data entry errors like transposed day/month or an incorrect century (e.g., 2004 vs 1994).
- Confirm the birthdate directly from the patient's BC Services Card. Update your Electronic Medical Record (EMR) if it contains incorrect information.
- Correct the birthdate on the rejected claim and resubmit it to the Teleplan Data Centre.
- If the claim is rejected again for 'AR', the patient's information may be out of date with MSP. Contact Health Insurance BC (HIBC) at 604-683-7151 to verify the birthdate they have on file.
